Institutional Visual System Design

CLIENT

SCOPE

Concept and design of a modular institutional visual system, including infographic architecture, competence framework visualization and print-ready production.

Commissioned by the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education, the UŽU (Usposabljanje za življenjsko uspešnost) programs target different vulnerable groups across Slovenia. Each program required a clear visual explanation of:

- target groups

- program goals

- key competence development

- educational progression model

Although content varied, the structural logic remained shared across all programs.

VISUAL FRAMEWORK

Modular Structure

Competence Visualization

At the core of the system lies a circular competence model, translating abstract educational concepts into structured visual hierarchy. Key competences were highlighted per program while maintaining systemic unity.

Educational Model Framework

The “Model izobraževalnih programov za ranljive skupine” visualizes the learning cycle:

Educational need → Inclusion → Competence development → New knowledge → Emerging educational need

The model was refined through iterative collaboration to ensure completeness and institutional alignment.

BACKEND LAYER

Early design explorations tested alternative compositions and layout structures, including a more editorial hexagonal approach.

Through refinement and stakeholder feedback, the final system achieved:

• clearer hierarchy

• improved balance

• expanded model elements

• institutional accuracy

The resulting framework allows integration of additional programs without redesigning the system.

COMMUNICATION MATERIALS

The visual system is now used in:

• national presentations

• educational publications

• printed materials

• institutional communication

The project demonstrates the transformation of complex educational strategy into structured visual communication.
